Motivational without action is just motivation. Motivation can only get you so far if you do not take action.
On July 23, the same day I posted the 2nd blog post, I watched the ARNOLD documentary on NetFlix. I feel like a spark fueled a fire in me that has been dim for a while.
I have always looked up to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. I grew up watching their movies when I was a kid.
Even now, at 33. Despite the challenges in life, I refuse to give up. A lot has happened since August. I'm combining the August post with the 1st 2 weeks of September.
Setting Limits & Consistency
Throughout August, I have worked on limiting my fast food intake by focusing on cooking more at home and consistently walking.
What I have Been Working On
Since September is here. There are several things that I have been focusing on:
- Eliminating fast food
- Prepping my Meals & Cooking at home
- Continue walking
- Continue with the 5x5 program
- Getting More Sleep
- Limiting Stress
It felt great getting back into the swing of things. I worked out This week.

I have included a short video of me preparing to deadlift 150 pounds.
Taking a Big Step Forward
One of the most significant steps I have taken is moving out and getting my own place. It took 6 years in the making. I have tried to move out for years but was unsuccessful financially or when life circumstances have occurred.
The apartment is nothing big, just a 560-ft apartment, but I'm grateful you got to start somewhere. Even though I have moved out, I still put in the work.

At the moment, I do not have furniture.
Living Alone
When you live alone, you get a better understanding of your life. You learn to appreciate things and those around you, such as your family. You want to strive for more, not just for yourself but for your family and for others. You realize you are capable of more than just doing the bare minimum.
Besides eating at home, preparing meals, and exercising, I started a food journey. I have been writing down what I eat daily in a spiral notebook.
Looking Forward, Not Backwards
August and coming into September have brought many changes in my life.
As time progresses, I know I have my work cut out for me. All I can do is move forward, not backward.
As I mentioned before, I'm in the same boat as you. I have no highlight reel; I am just here putting in the work.
Thank you for your time.
Don't Give Up. Keep Going.
